Data transmitted between the BlackBerry Enterprise Server and Blackberry smartphones is encrypted using Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) or Triple Data Encryption Standard (Triple DES).

Additional security: With Blackberry  PGP®, S/MIME and PGP/MIME are also supported.
There is built-in protection against malware.
Crucially, with Blackberry devices you can:

• Impose a device lock-down
• Wipe data from a lost or stolen device
• Wirelessly enforce security settings such as Bluetooth® lockout

BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Express – Free!

• Installed directly on the mail server, BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express supports up to 75 BlackBerry smartphone users. If more than 75 users are required BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express can be installed on other servers to support them.
• BlackBerry Enterprise Server Express wirelessly synchronizes BlackBerry smartphone user email, calendar, contacts, notes, and tasks with Microsoft Exchange Server or Windows Small Business Server.
